Our planet is an amazing place but it needs our assistance to thrive! That’s why each year on April 22, more than a billion people celebrate Earth Day to protect the planet and exhibit support for the wellbeing of the Earth and raise open mindfulness about the issues related to its conservation. It is to increase public awareness of the Earth’s sustainable environment. Acting now and together to live more sustainably is necessary to avoid the worst effects of the climatic change. Being aware, making conscious effort and practice of protecting the natural environment is the need of the hour.

This year’s theme of Earth Day is “Invest in Our Planet”. The idea behind this year’s theme is to encourage governments, corporations and private citizens to take concrete steps toward following more justifiable practices, buying from responsible companies and taking more of an active role in the Earth’s wellbeing.

Today Earth Day is not only associated to increase awareness of environmental problems, but it is also becoming a popular time for many communities to gather together to cleanup the litter, plant trees or simply reflect on the beauty of nature. At NVPS, students never fail to advocate support for the conservation of our planet Earth and endorse its preservation for the future generation. Their enthusiastic and creative minds flourished at its best, when it came to be the celebration of the Earth Day. Our little futuristic minds exuberantly participated in the activities related to the Earth Day, be it free hand drawing, handprinting activity, slogan writing, poster making, earth wind sock activity or Earth Day flap card activity. With such a blend of vivid and vibrant activities, the students perceived the importance of celebration of the Earth Day. Teachers equally validate to preserve earth in the best possible way. They take utmost care not to use plastic, at least, within the school premises. They bring their own cup for drinking tea, carry their own water bottle and avoid the use of aluminium foil. The school’s optimistic vision is equally nourished by our respected Principal, Ms. Veena Mishra, who herself supervises and guides teachers and students in this prolific endeavour.

Let’s not put our Earth at risk

At NVPS, we pledge to say no to plastic!

May our earth blossoms and mushrooms in the best environment!
